Spring 2010 trends

I was reading an article in the Style Section of the Charlotte Observer and thought I would pass on some of the highlights. Here are some of the top trends:
Nouveau Coco: Classics with ruffles, bows and draping, black and white spectator combinations along with lace and dots.
In The Garden: Rustic or elegant, this style statement is the season' most important message because flowers and other garden inspired elements are everywhere; dresses in flower prints, flowers motifs on handbags, shoes or necklace with a flower motif that is front and center. Good colors are blue, corals, pinks and turquoise.
Walk The Line: Sculptural style meets dramatic simplicity. Bold shoulders, geometric shapes and exposed hardware, complimented by chains, bold necklines, cuffs, handbags in new shapes and anything with architectural details.
Exotica: Exotic textiles, safari details, and tribal inspired trims and embellishments. Saturated neutrals and spice tones mixed with bright hues color this trend. Look for natural elements, leather, fringe, wood, snake and semi precious stones.
Take a look at my take on Spring 2010 in the pictures below.

Snowing in North Carolina

Today it is snowing in North Carolina and a good day to catch up on projects. I wanted to go to a jewelry and bead show but the roads aren't very good so I guess I will stay home and work. I also want to tell you about the gallery I'm in. It is located in Spencer, NC, across from the NC Transportation Museum. The name of the gallery is Green Goat Gallery. It is located in a wonderful old brick building with wood floors and high ceilings. If you are ever in the area, check it out. The Transportation Museum is a great place to visit also. Located in an old railroad yard with a round house, it has equipment and displays and at different times of the year they also have train rides.
